First Information Letter

The conference “Mathematics & IT: Research and education (MITRE-2011)” will be held in Chisinau, August 22-25, 2011, at Moldova State University, Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science.

A goal of the conference is to provide a forum for specialists to discuss different aspects of the integration of research and education in Mathematics and Computer Science. The discussion is planed to be axed on the achievements in scientific research and advanced training of high qualification specialists in these areas according to real needs of economy, on ways of involving talent youth in research. The participation of young scientists is encouraged.

At the conference are planed: plenary talks (30–45 min.), short communications (15–20 min.) and a poster session. The Organizing Committee plans also to organize during the conference special sections (workshops), if such proposals will be received. Applications with proposals for the organization of a workshop should be submitted to the Organizing Committee before April 15, 2011.

Specialists who intend to participate at MITRE-2011 are kindly asked to fill in the Registration Form and to send it as well as the abstract of communication (up to 1 page, in English, using Latex 2e) via e-mail to: cecmi_usm@yahoo.com  before May 1, 2011. Please, find the sample below. It is allowed to edit the abstracts in Didactics using Word 2003 or 2007 (text only, without any graphics, tables, etc.)

The received works will be reviewed. The Scientific Committee plans to select and recommend the best works for publication in some scientific journals edited in the Republic of Moldova.

The registration fee for participants is 15 Euro, will be paid on arrival, and covers partially the organization costs, materials for participants, coffee breaks during the conference and other costs. The registration fee for participants from Moldova is 50 MDL.

The costs for lodging and meal during the conference will be supported by the participants. Persons who need a reservation at a hotel should mention it in the Registration Form. An excursion is planned on August 25.
